Welcome to Lumora. By creating an account or using the Lumora app ("Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you are a child, please read these with a parent or guardian.
1. Who can use Lumora
- You must be at least 5 years old to create a Student account.
- If you are under 13 (US) / 16 (EU), you need a parent or school administrator to set up your account and give consent.
- Teachers and parents must be at least 18 years old.
- One person, one account. You may not share or sell your account.
2. Acceptable use
When using Lumora, you agree NOT to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or use toxic language toward any other user
- Post sexual, violent, hateful, or self-harm content
- Share personal contact information (phone, address, social handles) with other students
- Cheat on homework or exams by copying AI-generated answers and passing them off as your own
- Try to hack, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service
- Impersonate another person
- Upload content you do not own the rights to
Lumora automatically detects toxic language. Repeated violations result in account suspension.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you create in Lumora — your answers, drawings, journal entries, photos. You grant Lumora a limited licence to host, display, and back up your content so we can deliver the Service.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not upload content belonging to someone else.
4. Teacher-created content
Teachers who publish questions on the World Classroom grant other users a licence to view and practise with those questions. Teachers may remove their own questions at any time.
5. Brain Points and Heart Points
- Brain Points (BP) are earned for academic work.
- Heart Points (HP) are earned through kindness — they cannot be purchased, only earned.
- Points have no real-world monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- We reserve the right to remove points obtained by cheating or abuse.
6. Premium subscriptions
- Lumora offers a 30-day free trial (no card required). After the trial, you return to the Free plan unless you subscribe.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. Refunds are handled by that platform's policy.
- You may cancel anytime — access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Prices are shown in your local currency and may change with 30 days' notice.
- Safety features are never paywalled.
7. Teacher payouts
Teachers who sell Solution Packs or run Live Rescue sessions keep 80% of revenue; Lumora keeps 20% to cover payment processing and hosting. Monthly payouts are issued when your balance exceeds RM50 (or equivalent). Annual earnings reports are provided for tax filing.
8. Account termination
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings.
- We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms, especially on safety grounds (toxic language, inappropriate content).
- After termination, your personal data is deleted within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Educational disclaimer
Lumora is an educational aid, not a substitute for formal schooling or professional tutoring. Content is provided "as is" for learning purposes. We do not guarantee exam outcomes.
10. Safety disclaimer
Safe Shield and Toxic Pattern Detector use automated analysis to flag potentially harmful content. They are not a substitute for professional counselling. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a trusted adult immediately.
11. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, update features, or remove features with reasonable notice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lumora and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes will first be resolved informally by contacting amigoraj888@gmail.com. If we cannot resolve them, they will be handled by the courts of Malaysia, except where your local consumer protection laws grant you the right to use your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of Lumora after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
